Dennis King. Actor: Between Two Worlds. Legendary Broadway star of both dramas and musicals, he created the role of Francois Villon in Rudolf Friml's "The Vagabond King" in 1925, in which he also made his sound film debut opposite Jeanette MacDonald, Lillian Roth, and Warner Oland five years later.

Born on 2 November 1897 in Coventry, [2] Warwickshire, or Birmingham, England, King was the son of John and Elizabeth King Pratt. He chose to use his mother's maiden name for his career. [3] . He had one sister and three brothers.
