Jasper Tudor, duke of Bedford was the leader of the Lancastrians in Wales, uncle and guardian of Henry, earl of Richmond, afterward Henry VII of England. The second son of Owen Tudor, founder of the family’s fortunes, he was knighted in 1449 and created earl of Pembroke about 1452.

Jasper Tudor, Duke of Bedford (c. November 1431 – 21 December 1495) was the uncle of King Henry VII of England and a leading architect of his nephew's successful accession to the throne in 1485. He was a member of the Tudor family of Penmynydd .
Brother of Edmund Tudor (father of the future Henry VII). Jasper played a major role on behalf of the Lancastians in the Wars of the Roses and was with his nephew Henry Tudor in exile in Brittany. He married during Henry VII's reign, but had no legitimate heir.
10 de mar. de 2017 · Jasper escaped first to Tenby and then eventually to Scotland while his nephew Henry came under the guardianship of Lord Herbert in Wales. Jasper was attainted and lost all his lands in Wales. The Lancastrians solicited foreign support for their cause from Scotland, Flanders, France and Brittany.
Catherine of Aragon: the Church of England annulled her marriage after she failed to produce a male heir to the Tudor dynasty. The new King Henry VIII succeeded to the throne on 22 April 1509. He married Catherine of Aragon on 11 June; they were crowned at Westminster Abbey on 24 June.
Jasper Tudor, born around 1431, was the second son of the secret marriage between Katherine de Valois, widow of Henry V of England, and Owain Tudor, a member of her household.
