Jasper Tudor, Duke of Bedford (c. November 1431 – 21 December 1495) was the uncle of King Henry VII of England and a leading architect of his nephew's successful accession to the throne in 1485. He was a member of the Tudor family of Penmynydd .

Jasper Tudor, duke of Bedford was the leader of the Lancastrians in Wales, uncle and guardian of Henry, earl of Richmond, afterward Henry VII of England. The second son of Owen Tudor, founder of the family’s fortunes, he was knighted in 1449 and created earl of Pembroke about 1452.

Jasper not only received lands and titles, including Sudeley Castle, he also, for the first time in his life was given a wife. It is not clear why he had not married during the early 1450s at the same time as his brother Edmund.
9 de abr. de 2016 · After her husband (Henry V) died, she secretly married a member of her household, a Welshman called Owen Tudor, and bore him two sons – Edmund and Jasper. From this secret marriage came the entire Tudor dynasty.
Personal as well as political rivalry lay between Richard of York and Edmund Beaufort, Duke of Somerset. Somerset was far closer to the King and Queen than York and his appointment as Lieutenant in France had outraged York who felt it undermined his own position as Lieutenant in Normandy.
Jasper was joined by James Butler, Earl of Wiltshire, a loyal Lancastrian although his personal courage was doubted as he had swiftly run away from the battlefield of St Albans. Jasper was also accompanied by his father, Owain, as well as by Thomas and Owain ap Gruffydd ap Nicolas.
