Season 3 of the television Nancy Drew premiered on Friday, October 8, 2021 on The CW. The season's renewal was announced on February 3, 2021. Unlike the first two seasons which had 18 episodes, Noga Landau revealed that this season only has 13 episodes.

•The CW greenlit a third season of Nancy Drew to allow the production teams of not only Nancy Drew, but other shows, to map out the season ahead of time due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis. CW president Mark Pedowitz said, "•On July 13, 2021 production officially started and and wrapped up on December 9, 2021.
•This season aired on Fridays at 9:00 PM EST, which was a new night for the series.
•"Part of the premiere of Season 3, which we’re just writing now, is about exactly what’s going on in his head. It’s not too big a spoiler to say that wedding planning will be in the air. We’re not going to torture the audience. We also want to delve into what it’s like to be Nick, who had a youth that was cut short by time in prison, and who’s looking at his life ahead of him and his relationship with George. And George will have her own things to deal with. It may be that her long-absent father comes out of the woodwork when news of her impending wedding gets out on social media, that kind of thing. We’re definitely going to explore them as couples and as individuals."
