Punxsutawney Phil (/ ˌ p ʌ ŋ k s ə ˈ t ɔː n i /) is a groundhog residing in Young Township near Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, who is the central figure in Punxsutawney's annual Groundhog Day celebration.
