1 de jul. de 2024 · By the late fifties, Sinatra was unhappy with the lack of artistic freedom he was experiencing at Capitol Records. He decided to take matters into his own hands, by recording his last songs for them in 1961, and after failing to acquire Verve Records, starting his own label named Reprise Records.
25 de jul. de 2004 · Reprise Records was started by Frank Sinatra in 1960 as a vehicle for his own recordings, and the recordings of his Las Vegas pals, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. Early album releases by Frank Sinatra himself used the F-1000 series, while others were issued on the R-2000 and R-6000 series.
Sinatra would achieve greater success with Capitol and Reprise Records, the former of which he released his final two albums on— Duets and Duets II. Eight compilation albums under Sinatra's name were released in his lifetime, with more albums released following his death in 1998.
