Strelna (Russian: Стре́льна, IPA: [ˈstrʲelʲnə]) is a municipal settlement in Petrodvortsovy District of the federal city of Saint Petersburg, Russia, about halfway between Saint Petersburg proper and Petergof, and overlooking the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Population: 12,452 (2010 Russian census); 12,751 (2002 Census).

1750. 1844. 1944. 1999. Strelna History. Strelna is one of the most ancient settlements on the south bank of the Gulf of Finland. This name is derived from the river Strelka flowing in the area, that acquired its name thanks to its fast flow - the Slavic root " -str-" means "flow" or "movement".
