es una película de terror canadiense de 1963 dirigida por Rene Bonière. Es considerado como el primer filme canadiense a color y el primero en filmarse tanto en francés como en inglés con el mismo reparto. También es el debut de la actriz quebequense Geneviève Bujold, que interpreta a la hija del protagonista.
La trama se centra en un hombre de Montreal, Canadá, que se obsesiona con un hongo que crece en su jardín. Los hongos se multiplican hasta que son imposibles de erradicar, provocando que el hombre enloquezca y se vuelva agresivo con sus vecinos.
La película fue estrenada en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín de 1965, y transmitida en Alemania del Este y Oeste por televisión durante las décadas posteriores. Su última transmisión conocida por televisión ocurrió el 10 de mayo de 1998 por el canal canadiense Moviepix. A pesar de su importancia histórica, Amanita Pestilens es considerada un fracaso y por consiguiente nunca recibió un lanzamiento casero.
