Big Jake is a 1971 American Technicolor Western film starring John Wayne, Richard Boone and Maureen O'Hara. The picture was the final film for George Sherman in a directing career of more than 30 years, and Maureen O'Hara's last film with John Wayne and her last before her twenty-year retirement.

Big Jake, considerado el caballo más alto del mundo, murió a los 20 años en Wisconsin, Estados Unidos. El potro belga que medía cerca de 2,1 metros y pesaba 1136 kilos, vivía en una granja de Smokey Hollow Farm en Poynette. Y, en rigor, su muerte se produjo hace dos semanas pero sus dueños no quisieron precisar la fecha exacta.
