The door to the room next door was open. He entered, went out onto the balcony and tried to get over to his own balcony. He lost his footing, fell and died.

Chesney Henry Baker, Jr., más conocido como Chet Baker ( Yale, Oklahoma; 23 de diciembre de 1929- Ámsterdam, Países Bajos; 13 de mayo de 1988) fue un trompetista, cantante y músico de jazz estadounidense. Destacó como exponente del cool jazz de los años 50. Se inició en el jazz como miembro del Charlie Parker Quintet.
