Christine Elizabeth Clark (born February 1, 1946), better known as Chris Clark, is an American soul, jazz, and blues singer, who recorded for Motown Records. Clark became known to Northern soul fans for hit songs such as 1965's "Do Right Baby Do Right" (by Berry Gordy ) and 1966's "Love's Gone Bad" ( Holland-Dozier-Holland ).
Chris Clark is characterized by his endearing smile, genuine heart and captivating enthusiasm for life and music…and he comes by it naturally. Chris grew up on the outskirts of the Northern California farmlands where his musical style was cultivated by the likes of John Denver, Toby Keith, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Randy Houser.
Christine Clark, a Los Angeles native, was born in 1946. She grew up fast, both musically and emotionally, by traveling with jazz players throughout her youth and developing some skill as a blues belter. In California, Motown rep Hal Davis alerted Berry Gordy to the teenager's potential. She flew to Detroit to present her demo tapes.

Born in Santa Cruz, CA on Feb. 1, 1946, Chris Clark, like many Motown artists, is still a teenager when she auditions in 1963 for the company. Motown’s “Mr. West Coast,” Hal Davis, is impressed enough to send her to Detroit for an audition with Berry Gordy .
Mini Bio. Christine Elizabeth Clark was born in Santa Cruz County, California and early in life wished to become a blues singer. In 1963 she went to work for Motown Records in Detroit for 2 years before making a demo recording. Though her talent was undeniable, Chris was a blue-eyed blonde who resembled Kim Novak.
