Types of International Students. TGU has both government-sponsored and privately funded international students. Government-sponsored international students receive scholarships from the Japanese government; all other students are considered privately funded.

Participates engage in an Individual Study project, guided by a supervisory professor, exploring topics ranging from social and cultural issues to arts, education, sciences, and other subjects of student interest.
(1) Foreign research students conduct research on specific topics in their specialty, under the direction of an academic advisor. (2) The enrollment period for foreign research students is one year or half a year.
