Based on the Saturday Night Live sketch Wayne's World, it stars Myers in his feature film debut as Wayne Campbell and Dana Carvey as Garth Algar, a pair of rock and heavy metal fans who broadcast a public-access television show.
Wayne Campbell, un joven que toca la guitarra y es amante del rock, es conductor de un programa juvenil junto con su introvertido y raro amigo Garth Algar, quien toca la batería. Wayne's best friend is Garth Algar. He gets very nervous without Wayne, and appears to have a fear of heights. He also gets nervous whenever he sees his Dream Woman at the donut shop.
14 de feb. de 1992 · Wayne is still living at home. He has a world class collection of name tags from jobs he's tried, but he does have his own public access TV show. A local station decides to hire him and his sidekick, Garth, to do their show professionally and Wayne & Garth find that it is no longer the same.

In later appearances Wayne and Garth appear to be young adults (although Wayne still lives with his parents—a theme which would carry over to the first film), and their discussions shifted more towards current events and pop-culture phenomena, with the show featuring actual celebrity guests.
