    1.The show started its 15-year-run on Thursday nights at 10:30 p.m. This episode is missing. A clip was shown in the 4th Year Anniversary Special in 1956; the very first secret was "I am Garry Moore's wife" (from Eleanor "Nell" Borum Little). Other secrets included "My Husband Snores" (the wife of a friend of Allan Sherman), and Shelley Keller of New York City (another friend of Sherman), "I Am Wearing a Girdle". Boris Karloff's secret was that he was afraid of Mice. Originally, the show was set up like a courtroom, with Garry Moore as the Judge, and the panelists being the prosecution. Each panelist would walk up to the contestant and question him or her.

    2.This episode is missing. Beginning with this episode, the format associated with this show was now used with two desks placed across the stage from each other. Eva Gabor's secret was that she slept on her baby pillow.

    3.Preempted the following Thursday for the Republican National Convention. This episode is missing. Possibly Bill & Jayne's first appearances, with both instantly becoming regulars. Laraine Day's secret was that she once sold newspapers.

The panel was stumped in Game 4 by Dorothy Warren, daughter of California Governor Earl Warren, of Sacramento, California, whose father was in the audience.

Jayne successfully guessed in Game 1 that Margaret Cahill of Washington, D.C. was the first Miss America in 1921 at $30. The panel was stumped in Game 2 by Mr. Ellenberg of Connecticut, who was on his Honeymoon, and his wife appears. For the Special Guest Round in Game 3, the panel was stumped by Paul Lukas, who was about to kiss Laura Z. Hobson. The panel was stumped in Game 4 by Dr. Peter Goldmark (Mr. X), who invented long-playing records.
