Kathleen Chitty fue una escritora y periodista británica, nacida en 1910. Estudió literatura en la Universidad de Cambridge y trabajó como maestra antes de dedicarse al periodismo en 1935. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Chitty se unió al Servicio de Inteligencia Británica (MI6) y fue enviada a Viena como agente secreta.
When Simon moved to England in 1964, he met Kathleen Mary "Kathy" Chitty at the first English folk club he played, the Railway Inn Folk Club in Brentwood, Essex, where Chitty worked part-time selling tickets. She was 16 and he was 22 when they began a relationship.
