Liburnia (Ancient Greek: Λιβουρνία) in ancient geography was the land of the Liburnians, a region along the northeastern Adriatic coast in Europe, in modern Croatia, whose borders shifted according to the extent of the Liburnian dominance at a given time between 11th and 1st century BC.

La liburna o libúrnica es una embarcación que tuvo su origen en Liburnia, provincia de Dalmacia y que empleaban en la piratería. Con el auxilio de estas naves venció Augusto a Marco Antonio en la célebre batalla de Actium y desde entonces se les dio la preferencia en las armadas romanas.
Libúrnica. o Liburnia o Liburna. Embarcación que tuvo su origen en Liburnia, provincia de Dalmacia y que empleaban en la piratería. Los liburnios, desarrollaron una galera ligera, de un solo orden. Adoptada por la armada romana, ésta incrementó su potencia, convirtiéndola en birreme dikrotos, dando origen a la libúrnica.
