20 de dic. de 2021 · on this day. December 14, 1989 – Singer Pattie Santos died at age 40. December 20, 2021 admin. Best known as a member of It’s A Beautiful Day, Santos co-formed the band in San Francisco in 1967 along with violinist David LaFlamme and his wife, Linda LaFlamme, on keyboards.
After It's A Beautiful Day her singing career continued with Bud Cockrell and she later retired from music to raise purebred dogs before her untimely death in 1989. She was voted "best female vocalist of 1968". She died in a car accident.
The official cause of death is "cardiac arrest," but it is unclear whether it was the cause or the result of the auto accident. In 1987, Chapin was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his philanthropic work.
Pattie Santos, who had formed Cockrell & Santos with her husband, former bassist Bud Cockrell, in 1977, was killed in a car crash near Geyserville in Sonoma County, California on December 14, 1989. Cockrell himself died in 2010.
