  4. History. Newtown School was founded in the troubled year of 1798 on the Waterford estate which had been the home of Sir Thomas Wyse, himself a key figure in Irish education. It’s purpose was the education of Quakers from Munster, but during its 200 year development this has broadened into the distinguished multi-denominational school of today

  5. The school will offer 72 places in the incoming 1st Year. The Admissions Policy and the Annual Admissions Notice 2024-25 are posted below along with the relevant forms. Applications for 1st Year 2024/25 will open on Thursday 19th October 2023 and close at 4:30pm on Friday 10th November 2023.
