(SHCE) is a re-release of Stronghold Crusader released in June 2008.
Two new game mechanics are introduced: outposts and the power bar for human players.
The power bar is a meter that builds up over time and provides access to special abilities. Using a power diminishes the bar, with more powerful abilities reducing the bar further than less powerful abilities. Players can unleash volleys of rocks and arrows, summon a squad of troops, acquire a stash of gold, or heal troops.
