27 de dic. de 2017 · Rock Springs’ Slovenski Dom has served as the social and cultural heart of Rock Springs’ Slovenian community for over 100 years. Starting in the late 19th century, immigration from Eastern Europe to Rock Springs exploded.
The Slovenski Dom in Rock Springs, Wyoming was built as a community hall for Slovenian fraternal organizations in 1913. The Slovenski Dom, or Slovenian National Home, was one of a number of similar halls built in places with large ethnic Slovenian populations.
The Rock Springs Slovenski Dom is the only Slovenian lodge remaining in Wyoming. The death of the immigrant generation, intermarriage among their descendants, and the closing of the coal mines in the 1950s put an end to the golden age of ethnic life in Rock Springs.

8 de nov. de 2014 · Each nationality had its own saloon or meeting place, such as the Slovenian Slovenski Dom, still in existence. In the 1920s, the town began celebrating its diversity with “International Night,” a festival that showcased cultural differences by sharing costumes, food, songs and dance. This annual celebration continues today.
