Gillian Leigh Anderson (born August 9, 1968) is an American actress best known for her portrayal of FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in The X-Files. Anderson has been a main cast member of The X-Files during its initial nine season run from 1993–2002, as well as the season ten and season eleven revivals in 2016 and 2018.
