Liselotte Mettler is an Austrian-German surgeon who specializes in endocrinology, reproductive medicine, gynecological endoscopy and gynecological oncology. Mettler is a professor emeritus for the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Kiel University, Germany where she worked closely with Kurt Semm.

15 de dic. de 2021 · In 1980, Semm and his staff member Liselotte Mettler reported the first endoscopic ovariectomies and adnectomies performed with the aid of the Roeder loop. The same year, Semm performed the first laparoscopic appendectomy which he published in 1983 (5, 9, 10).

Professor Emeritus Liselotte Mettler was the first in the 1980’s from Northern Germany to learn In-Vitro Fertilization from Professors Robert Edwards and Patrick Steptoe. She worked in 1976 for 6 months with Robert Edwards in Cambridge in his department of Physiology.
Liselotte Mettler war 40 Jahre als Ärztin für Frauenheilkunde im Bereich der Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe an der UFK Kiel tätig, davon 25 Jahre stellvertretende Direktorin der Abteilung.
