A generalized quintessence model is presented which corresponds to a richer vacuum structure that, besides a time-dependent, slowly varying scalar field, contains a varying cosmological term. From first principles we determine a number of scalar-field potentials that satisfy the constraints

1 de jun. de 2018 · Commonly considered quintessential cosmological models are based on the introduction of a spatially-inhomogeneous slowly-evolving real scalar field rolling down a potential similar to the inflaton field in inflation theory.

1 de dic. de 2023 · Under a Creative Commons license. open access. Abstract. In the framework of scalar-tensor gravity, we consider non-flat interacting quintessence cosmology where a scalar field is interacting with dark matter. Such a scalar field can be a standard or a phantom one.
We stress three important features of the quintessence or Q-component: the time evolution of the equation-of-state; the length-scale dependence of the speed of propagation of the fluctuations in the Q-component; and, the contribution of quintessence fluctuations to the CMB anisotropy spectrum.
