Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Amis Cameron worked as a Ford model before she began acting in the 1980s. She is best known for her role as Rose's granddaughter Lizzy in Titanic, and also appeared in films such as Fandango, The Usual Suspects, and The Ballad of Little Jo.

En 1997, durante el rodaje de Titanic en el que participaba, conoció a su director James Cameron con el que el 4 de junio del 2000 se casó, teniendo ambos tres hijos en común: Claire (4 de abril de 2001), Quinn (9 de septiembre de 2003) y Elizabeth Rose (29 de diciembre de 2006).
Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, co-produced and co-edited by James Cameron. Incorporating both historical and fictionalized aspects, it is based on accounts of the sinking of RMS Titanic in 1912.
She later appeared in Blown Away (1994), The Usual Suspects (1995) and Titanic (1997) in which she played Rose DeWitt Bukater's granddaughter Lizzy Calvert. That same year, she starred opposite Tom Selleck in the television Western Last Stand at Saber River (1997) and appeared in the horror film Nadja (1994) .
