No Man's Land is the seventh episode of the fifth season of The Handmaid's Tale. It aired on October 19, 2022.

June and Serena find themselves in a desperate situation.

With Serena pointing a gun at her from the backseat, June drives down the road through no man's land. She desperately wants to know what is going on, but Serena just continually orders her to keep on driving. Serena is in agony from labor and accidentally fires the weapon as she is jolted with pain. June applies the brakes and quickly jumps out running for the undergrowth, from which she watches Serena give chase and crash her car into a ditch. June turns back and quickly realizes that Serena is in labor, wailing in agony as another contraction occurs. June takes Serena’s gun and spots a barn in the distance, where they both head to. In the barn, June reflects on her own previous pregnancies and remarks about giving birth all alone to Nichole, but Serena can’t bring herself to allow June to help her. She pushes her away when June wants to check the cervix, saying June is trying to kill her and her baby. June heads back to the car.

In a flashback, Serena and "Offred" attend a birthing ritual at a Commander's home, where June is introduced by Serena as her "new handmaid." The pregnant handmaid, Ofclarence, is bleeding heavily though and she is consequently operated upon. Aunt Lydia commands that June pray for the life of the child. The baby survives the Cesarian, but the mother dies; Aunt Lydia explains to the handmaids that Ofclarence "has fulfilled her duty in this world." The handmaids watch as her body is wheeled out, whilst the Wives celebrate their newborn baby.

Back in the woods, June tries pushing the car from the ditch herself to no avail. After she places a car mat under the wheel and a wooden post under it, the car reverses back onto the road. June slits her hand when she pulls away the broken glass from the gunshot. When June returns, Serena allows her to help, and June emotionally pushes her through labor. Serena eventually gives birth to a baby boy whom she calls Noah.

June reiterates that they need to get to a hospital. She says Serena’s sweating is due to her fever. Serena adamantly refuses to go there. She explains the abusive relationship she has with the Wheelers; they are controlling her and treating her like their handmaid. She states that she has no future and hands Noah to June, asking her to provide him with a safer life. June refuses and insists on saving Serena's life, saying this is not Gilead and women who give birth aren't just vessels.

June finally takes Serena to the hospital where she asks to use the phone. When she returns to Serena in her room, Serena is worried. They took Noah to the NICU since the baby was having trouble regulating his temperature and might be jaundiced, and she's not pleased to have gotten antibiotics or that Noah is on formula. June promises it will be fine, and when she gets up to leave, Serena thanks her.

June walks back to the lobby and finds Luke there. He tells her that Mark Tuello had received the USB that Jaeden had given them containing the "Plums" files. He's shocked June was there when the baby was born. They watch Canadian immigration officers come for Serena to detain her. We learn Luke called them, and that Serena has no immigration status and no immediate right to counsel. The child protection unit is already there to oversee Noah's care. Serena starts to panic, screaming at June for help as they take her baby away.

“A vessel, that's what you thought we were. Who we were, where we came from, what we wanted, none of that mattered to you, to any of you.”  — June's response to Serena's idea of being a vessel to 'deliver' Noah.
