A centipede bite is an injury resulting from the action of a centipede's forcipules, stinger-like appendages that pierce the skin and inject venom into the wound. Such a wound is not strictly speaking a bite, as the forcipules are a modified first pair of legs rather than true mouthparts.
The general symptoms of a centipede bite may include: Pain at the site of the bite. Redness and swelling. Itching or burning sensation. Tenderness, tingling, and numbness around the bite. Enlargement of the lymph nodes. Headache. In very rare cases, severe symptoms have been reported, such as: Fever and chills. Nausea. Rapid heart rate.

Examine the patient closely for non-dermatologic symptoms, such as neurologic deficits or chest pain, as guided by patient symptoms.
Millipedes do not bite but may secrete a toxin that is irritating, causing burning and itching of the skin and, particularly when accidentally rubbed into the eye, causing redness, swelling, and pain of the conjunctiva or the cornea.
