The Devil Wears Prada is a 2006 American comedy-drama film directed by David Frankel and produced by Wendy Finerman. Synopsis. Andrea "Andy" Sachs ( Anne Hathaway ), an aspiring journalist fresh out of Northwestern University, lands the magazine job "a million girls would kill for": junior personal assistant to icy editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly ( Meryl Streep ), who dominates the fashion world from her perch atop Runway magazine.
