John Irving Bentley (15 April 1874 – 5 December 1966) was a physician who burned to death at the age of 92 in the bathroom of his house in Coudersport, Pennsylvania. His death was allegedly caused by spontaneous human combustion.

Dr. Bentley was a 92-year-old man living alone in his home who died under mysterious circumstances when he inexplainably burned to death in his bathroom. The body of Dr. Bentley was almost completely destroyed, while the remainer of the home was virtually untouched.
