Kojima Productions was originally formed by video game designer Hideo Kojima as a subsidiary under Konami on April 1, 2005. The logo used while the studio was a subsidiary is a modified version of the Force Operation X emblem from Kojima's most famous series Metal Gear. The subsidiary was later disbanded by Konami after Kojima left the company.
The 7780s Studio name was adopted for the release of the horror video game demonstration P.T., in order to make it appear as an indie production by a small studio.
