The King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999 ( ザ・キング・オブ・ファイターズ ドリームマッチ 1999 （ ナインティーンナインティナイン ）) is a remake and port of The King of Fighters '98 which was released for the Dreamcast on June 24, 1999 in Japan, and on September 30, 1999 in North America.
From The King of Fighters '99 to The King of Fighters 2000, and once again in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum (and by extension The King of Fighters XI ), Robert is a Shotoclone character who uses Charge Inputs, just like Ash Crimson and Leona do. This version of Robert also appears in The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match as EX Robert .

Robert es hijo de Alberto Garcia, un adinerado empresario italiano y el mejor amigo de Takuma Sakazaki, el maestro de Kyokugenryu Karate. Desde The King of Fighters 99 a 2000 Robert ha tenido un movimiento extra en los capítulos por la Saga NESTS. Cosa que varios Fans acomodan bien en su movelist. Sigue sin cambios solo que se agregan mejoras en su forma de pelear. En KOF 2002 UM se escogió la edición del KOF 2000 como personaje oculto 1. Proyectil de Energía -En KOF 99 disparaba un proyectil redondo como los de Yuri en Art of Fighting 2, mientras que en 2000-2002 UM dispara proyectiles cortos parecidos a los de Guile y Leona....

Robert's style focuses upon lethal kicks, his signature move being the Gen'ei Kyaku (Phantom Leg), along with his Mahha Geri (Mach Kick) from Neo Geo Battle Coliseum and KOF XI being a possible feint attack.
