The project is called Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, in honor of the Canadian billionaire Michael Lee-Chin banker who contributed $ 30 million to immortalize his name as a patron of art. The building was designed by famous architect Daniel Libeskind , who won in February 2002 the competition for the third extension of the museum.
