The McMahon family (/ m ə k ˈ m æ n / mək-MAN) is an Irish-American family primarily known for their proprietorship of the world's largest professional wrestling company, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). McMahon was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina, on August 24, 1945, to Victoria (née Hanner; 1920–2022) and Vincent James McMahon (1914–1984), who left the family when McMahon was still a baby and took McMahon's older brother Roderick James McMahon III (1943–2021) with him.
In 1996, Vince, Sr. took his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame; he was inducted by grandson Shane McMahon, the fourth generation of sports-entertainment's most influential family to take up the family business.
