Barchfeld ist ein Ortsteil der Gemeinde Barchfeld-Immelborn im Wartburgkreis in Thüringen und Sitz der Gemeindeverwaltung.
Barchfeld is a village and a former municipality in the Wartburgkreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since 31 December 2012, it is part of the municipality Barchfeld-Immelborn. Geography. The village lies in the southwest of Thuringia in the valley of the Werra between the Thüringer Wald and the Rhön.

El landgrave Carlos de Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (nombre completo: Carlos Augusto Luis Felipe; 27 de junio de 1784, Barchfeld-17 de julio de 1854, Philippsthal) fue un miembro de la Casa de Hesse y fue el Landgrave reinante de Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld entre 1803-1806 y desde 1813 hasta su muerte.

Am Fuße des Thüringer Waldes und nahe der Rhön liegt Barchfeld, ein Ort mit über 1000jähriger Tradition. Die zentrale Lage ist die Ursache für die weit zurückreichende Geschichte des Ortes mit einer Ersterwähnung 933. Besiedelt war der Platz schon früher, wie prähistorische Funde belegen.
