'Newtown in the land of Vienna' [i.e. Lower Austria]; Central Bavarian: Weana Neistod) is a city located south of Vienna, in the state of Lower Austria, in northeast Austria. It is a self-governed city and the seat of the district administration of Wiener Neustadt-Land District.

The well developed hiking trail starts in Muggendorf and follows the line of the Myra river until reaching the impressive falls that are surrounded by woodland.

Wiener Neustadt, city, northeastern Austria. It lies near the Leitha River south of Vienna. Founded in 1194 by the Babenberg duke Leopold V, it was chartered in 1277 and had a mint at that time. It was most prosperous in the 15th century, when it was the residence of the Holy Roman emperor.

With around 45,000 inhabitants, Wiener Neustadt is now the center of south-eastern Lower Austria and a city with important functions for industry, trade and research. The attractiveness of the city is shown not least by the fact that the population increases almost annually by around 7%.
