Epworth is a town and civil parish on the Isle of Axholme, in the North Lincolnshire unitary authority of Lincolnshire, England. [1] . The town lies on the A161, about halfway between Goole and Gainsborough. As the birthplace of John Wesley and Charles Wesley, it has given its name to many institutions associated with Methodism.

19 de jul. de 2021 · Epworth is an ancient town located in the Isle of Axholme, once a small area of high ground in a sea of marshland. It was, quite literally, an island. The marshes are gone now, drained in the 1620s, but the surrounding farmland is a network of drainage canals and dykes. St Andrew's Church.
