The Stadium was built to hold 100,000 spectators for the olympics and now it seats just under 70,000 people. The Stadium was designed by Kim Swoo Geun and the stadium profile and curves were based on Korean Joseon Dynasty porcelain vase. Since the Olympics, the stadium hasn’t been used for any major world events.
