Anne Parsons, Countess of Rosse (née Messel, previously Armstrong-Jones; 8 February 1902 – 3 July 1992), was an English socialite and one of the founders of The Victorian Society. She was the mother of Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon and Brendan Parsons, 7th Earl of Rosse .
Biography. Birr Castle, County Offaly, seat of the Earls of Rosse. Lord Rosse was the eldest son of Laurence Michael Harvey Parsons, 6th Earl of Rosse, and Anne (née Messel, mother of Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon by an earlier marriage).
Lord Rosse married Frances Lois Lister-Kaye (1882–1984), daughter of Sir Cecil Lister-Kaye, 4th Baronet and Lady Beatrice Adeline Pelham-Clinton, on 19 October 1905. They had three children: Lawrence Michael Harvey Parsons, 6th Earl of Rosse (b. 28 September 1906, d. c 1979), married Anne Messel, daughter of Lt.-Col. Leonard Charles Rudolph Messel, and had issue.

William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse (17 June 1800 – 31 October 1867), was an Irish astronomer, naturalist, and engineer. He was president of the Royal Society (UK), the most important association of naturalists in the world in the nineteenth century. He built several giant telescopes.
