Her research focused on dances among Native American nations, particularly the Yaqui, and on dance among several ethnic groups in Africa and Asia.

  5. Allegra Fuller Snyder is Professor Emerita of Dance and former Director of the pioneering Graduate Program in Dance Ethnology at UCLA. She has also served as Chair of the Faculty, School of the Arts and chaired the Department of Dance as well as directed the World Arts and Cultures, inter-college, interdisciplinary program intermittently from 1974 until her retirement in 1991.
