11 de may. de 2016 · Betty Ford only briefly met Mrs, Roosevelt when both attended the 1961 Kennedy Inaugural ceremony at the U.S. Capitol. She later named the First Lady along with her mother as her two role models. First Ladies Nixon Ford, Reagan and Bush each briefly met Mrs. Roosevelt.
Tom DeFrank covered the presidency of Gerald R. Ford for Newsweek magazine. He was Newsweek’s White House correspondent for 25 years and is currently Washington bureau chief of the New York Daily News. DeFrank was an eyewitness to both assassination attempts on President Ford’s life in 1975.
