Hace 4 días · The manor was bought in 1618 by Sir Richard Cecil of Collyweston, son of the first Earl of Exeter; he died here in 1633 and probably laid out the large garden of which earthworks remain (RCHM, Northants. I, Wakerley (4), Fig. 112). The house was demolished later in the century but the manor has remained in the hands of the Cecil family.
