The ceremony in which he was awarded was one of his last major public appearances; he passed away a few years later after a long period of ill health. He was only outlived by Zeppo.

Theirs was a stage mother whose parents were a ventriloquist husband married to a yodeling harpist wife, said to be the source of the boys’ desire to perform. Groucho wisecracked, Harpo was a mute, and Chico was a shyster.
Hace 3 días · Frank's fourth and final wife was Barbara Marx (a showgirl and the former wife of Zeppo Marx). They had been married for over 20 years at the time of Frank's death in 1998. One repeated part of the song "Something Stupid" that relates to this aspect of Frank's life is "And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like 'I love you.'"
