Gustavo II Adolfo, nado en Estocolmo o 9 de decembro de 1594 e finado en Lützen o 6 de novembro de 1632, foi o rei de Suecia dende 1611 ata 1632 e considérase un dos fundadores do Imperio Sueco. Levou Suecia á supremacía militar durante a guerra dos Trinta Anos, axudando a determinar o equilibrio de poder político e relixioso en Europa.
Recibió una educación militar y también aprendió griego y latín. Se casó con María Leonor de Brandeburgo y tuvo una hija llamada Cristina. Además, tuvo una amante llamada Margarita Slots con la que tuvo un hijo, Gustavo Gustavsson de Vasaborg. Gustavo II Adolfo se convirtió en rey de Suecia a los 17 años en 1611 y fue coronado en 1617.
