The property lay across the Intracoastal waterway from Eastover, her younger brother Harold Stirling Vanderbilt’s splendid villa designed by Maurice Fatio in 1930.

On “Equal Pay Day,” April 12, 2016, Alva Belmont was honored when President Barack Obama established the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument in Washington, D.C. Alva V.
