John Herbert "Jock" Bowes-Lyon (født 1. april 1886, død 7. februar 1930) var en britisk diplomat og den næstældste bror til Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (1900 – 2002), der blev gift med kong Georg 6. af Storbritannien. The Hon. John Herbert Bowes-Lyon (1 April 1886 – 7 February 1930) was the second son of the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne, and the brother of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the future Queen Elizabeth. He was an uncle to Queen Elizabeth II, although he died when she was a small child, and before Princess Margaret was born.

John Lyon (d. 1382), Chancellor of Scotland in 1377, married Johanna, daughter of King Robert II, and acquired estates in Aberdeenshire, Fife, Forfarshire and Perthshire.
