Cabiria is a Roman child when her home is destroyed by a volcano. Sold in Carthage to be sacrificed in a temple, she is saved by Fulvio, a Roman spy. But danger lurks, and hatred between Rome and Carthage can only lead to war. Three centuries before Christus. Young Cabiria is kidnapped by some pirates during one eruption of the Etna.
Croessa tries to save Cabiria by saying she's sick. She is whipped for her lie. Fluvius and Maciste agree to save Cabiria and Croessa gives him Batho's ring. They rescue Cabiria just when she's going to be sacrificed to Moloch and hide at the Striped Monkey Inn, threatening the innkeeper to force him to remain silent.
