In this sequel to WESTWORLD, two reporters are invited to Futureworld, a 'Disneyesque' resort for adults, to see what changes have been made since the early model robots went haywire and killed some guests. Once there, they discover a grandiose scheme to replace the leaders of the world's most powerful nations with robot clones.
Two years after the Westworld tragedy in the Delos amusement park, the corporate owners have reopened the park following over $1 billion in safety and other improvements. For publicity purposes, reporters Chuck Browning and Tracy Ballard are invited to review the park. Just prior to arriving at the park, however, Browning is given a clue by a dying man that something is amiss.
Futureworld plays on the question that audiences raised following the release of Westworld - can you have sex with these robots? The answer is yes, and whilst we're not shown any (this is a family film after all) both the robots and some of the guests discuss it openly.
