Oriel is a medium-sized college, with about 340 undergraduate students across a range of subjects. 23 de jun. de 2021 · This volume allows Oriel—Oxford’s fifth college by foundation (1326)—to take its place within a golden age of institutional histories. Its luxuriant scale is surpassed by Magdalen’s 2008 door-stopper, perhaps, but it nevertheless finds room in its well-indexed pages for everything from Bill the bulldog to water polo, via Nerses II, Armenian patriarch of Constantinople.
Oriel College. Although comparatively smaller than most other colleges, Oriel boasts a wonderful location, a multitude of facilities and a close, caring atmosphere. The college itself has three quads, with the first being home to its iconic steps. Oriel has a bit of reputation amongst other colleges for being competitive - particularly with rowing.
Oriel boasts a number of facilities that are advantageous to Music students. There is a dedicated Music Room on the main College site that can be used for music practice and small concerts. The Senior Library houses a Steinway B grand piano, which may used for practice by Music students and others of a suitably advanced level.
