Edgar Stuart, Duke of Cambridge (14 September 1667 – 8 June 1671) was the fourth son of James, Duke of York (later James II of England) and his first wife Anne Hyde. He was second in the line of succession to the English and Scottish thrones.
Edgar Stuart was born on 14 September 1667 at St. James's Palace, the son of James, Duke of York, heir to the throne of his brother, Charles II and of James's wife, Anne Hyde. The baby was Christened on 16 September, George Monck Duke of Albemarle and Henry Somerset the new Marquess of Worcester were godfathers and Barbara , Countess of Suffolk was godmother.
The titles Duke of Cambridge and Baron of Dauntsey became extinct upon James's death, the former revived several times since and the latter revived just once for James's brother Edgar in 1667.
