Effectivement, après 9 ans de lutte acharnée, sa mère décède d’un cancer. C’est alors que l’artiste se réfugie vers ce qui la rassure : sa maison, ses racines, la cuisine de sa mère aux vieux torchons qu’elle brode et qu’elle utilisera pour recouvrir les gants.
