10 de sept. de 1997 · ALICE ELIZA CAMPBELL mother of HUGH CAMPBELL of Stracathro born 21st August 1862 died 15th July 1952. I will lift mine eyes to the hills. In memory of ANN PETO, beloved wife of JAMES ALEXANDER CAMPBELL of Stracathro , who died on 15th September, 1887, aged 54 years; and of the said Right Honourable JAMES ALEXANDER CAMPBELL who died on 9th May, 1908, aged 83 years.
In 1874, the house and estate was purchased by Sir James Campbell (1790–1876), Lord Provost of Glasgow and father of Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman (1836–1908). Stracathro House was requisitioned by the government in 1938 but reverted to private ownership following its sale by Tayside Health Board in 2003.
In 1874, the house and estate was purchased by Sir James Campbell (1790–1876), Lord Provost of Glasgow and father of Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman (1836–1908). Stracathro House reverted to private ownership following its sale by NHS Tayside in 2003. It is being refurbished as a family home.
